...how come i can see the servers in Quake 2, as i refresh them, but when I want to join them, it just says "Connecting ###.###.###.###:####"?

Is this something to do with BT Internet or Wireplay, or is it both?

Hi there m8.
It could be a couple of things.
The first and most obvious is is the server full? Most are limited to 12 ppl. I know saying this is dumb but I am just covering the most obvious!
The second could be your settings for your modem. I used to have a similar prb. Do you run tweeked modem settings? I found that sometimes I could not get into Q2 when I ran with error control off. I turned it on and went straight in! After considerable playing around I found that I had to enable software compression in the server types under the properties of the connection and also had to turn on my error control and untick both the boxes in the modem configuration. This setting allows me to connect every time now.
