Hi I am having terrible ping problems, typically 500-900ms!! I have an AMD K6-2 300 w64 MB and Voodoo 3 3000, diamond supraexpress 56K modem (currently connected at 45,333bps through the Wireplay direct number.)
What can I do to improve this so I can play games??
I never had these problems with my Lan connection last year *sigh*.
FatSloth,
If you have the external SupraExpress PRO modem the you might like to check this page :-
http://www.funkateers.co.uk/techweb/modems/dse56epro/index.htm
It shows my Win9x settings for my SupraExpress 56e PRO.

Thanks for your reply Slime.
I have the internal modem, though I looked at the recommended site and seem to have those settings anyway.
Anyone got any other ideas?
Fatsloth,
OK - did you know that Diamond put out new drivers for the internal very recently (19th July) ?
They might help ya. Details are on another post from the modem board :-

P.S If not, i can only recommend you reload your existing drivers and/or firmware.
Mate, this ping is incredibly high, make sure you have Error Control OFF.

SLO MO RULZ...however, I found if you turn off Error Correction, esp. with JK. The ping is very random. That is with the external Supra Express....not PRO.

Thanks guys,
I didn't know about the new drivers, and combined with turning error correction off I get a ping of ~300.
If I see any of you around...
... I'll frag your asses!
Cheers,
