b.T ARE A BUNCH OF f**K**S, THEY PURPOSLY TRY TO CAUSE THE PUBLIC GRIEF, TAKE THE NEW SERVICE FROM LOCALTEL FREE EVENING CALLS FROM SCREAMING.NET,I KNOW SOMEONE WHO WORKS AT LOCALTEL, AND HE SAID THAT B.T HAD BEEN HOLDING BACK CONSUMERS FROM THE SERVICE WHO USED IT THE MOST IN THE EVENING [ON-LINE INTERNET GAMERS] SO THAT THEY WOULD NOT MAKE A HUGE LOSS IN THIS THING, I RANG UP B.T TWICE FOR AN EXPRIMENT TO SEE HOW THEY WOULD RE-ACT TO A CUSTOMER INQUIRING INTO LOCALTEL, GUESS WHAT? BOTH TIME THE PUT ME ON HOLD AND CUT THE LINE, AND I KNOW OF PLENTY OF PEOPLE THIS HHAS HAPPENED TO, I THINK ALL THE MEMBERS OF WIREPLAY SHOULD SING AN ONLINE FORM TO GIVE TO OFTEL, SO THAT OFTEL CAN KICK THEM UP THE F**KI*G ARSE.

I have eva seen....
I try at all times of the night but I still can't get a connection.....and if I do get one, it only lasts 4 10mins max!!! WTF??!!

I dont know why everyone gives companies like BT and Microsoft so much greif, if you ran them, you would run them exactly how they r running them at the moment. Things are getting better though and i dont think it will be too long until we see a completly free ISP in this country.

Im not qutie sure how this relates to new connections, but have you ever tried screaming.net? Pings are 5000+, I know someone who tried 130 times to get onto the service once, and your email NEVER works.

Also, the entire screaming.net bandwidth is 10mb/s, the same as a few peeps on cable. and try ringing localtel tech support, thats a laugh. Give Bt some credit, would you discuss a competitors prodects on your line? I think not. Cut bt some slack ffs.

While BT must be applauded for finally putting in place their ADSL initiative, they are getting twitchy with these new telecoms/isp companies offering competition. BT have about £7 billion sitting in the bank. I recently heard that they were planning on spending a couple of billion in Poland. WTF, why not spend that money giving the customer a better deal, or even make the networks better etc...

you would think that now the old internet access is outdated by ADSL they would make the old network flat rate. This would easily make them the best ISP.

I dont know about screaming.net's connection speeds but BT internet free is getting worse every week, I get the engaged tone 9 times out of 10, and when I do finally get connected its either at 15k or only lasts half an hour.

I cant wait till all ISP's are free with free call charges, might hav a long wait though the way things are going.

Spending money in the UK - what is the point if the regulator then lets any one else take advantage of it. Surely it is better to invest in growth opportunites you can take advantage of?

ok ppl heres my point of view on BT:
Right i made the switch to Localtel purely for Screaming Net and free calls etc. Now every body by now knows hows utter crap they are, and after a week i switched back to BT.
Previous to this, i was the first 1 to slag off BT, but with being with Localtel, it makes you realise that BT arent a bad company. U never have probs speaking to ppl there, quick, helpful everything really. I do think though, they are too slow when it comes to the internet. Its about bloody time they pulled their finger out and gave us 24/7 free access, i would gladly pay £40 a month for this.

Overal BT do run a good co, its just a shame the inevitable things like 24/7 dont appear quicker. However all this abbuse they get should really be pointed towards co's like localtel.
