I have heard that it is another shared bandwidth initiative and that they still have not managed to succesfully clear out the noise from the power line it is piggybacked on. No idea whether this is still the case.

I think they managed to sort that problem out but there was another problem concerning street lamps which has yet to be solved (i think anyway).
