What kind of services will be useable on both cable/adsl? What limitations will they be putting on them for things like running web/game servers etc?

And is there a way of hooking up more than one computer at a time?

I don't really know which services you mean, but as for the limitations for running servers I can't say I've heard of any...
hooking up other comps... hmmm, dunno. I should imagine you could just link up other comps to the ADSL/CM Comp and that would work... (maybe)

You can not run a web service properly over ADSL, u honestly think BT would stop charging peps loads for a fixed IP? If i remember correctly, the firewall is only up over the common HTTP / FTP ports so you can run it on another port if u want. As for games servers, i dont think there is and firewall blocking them. All the services that are going to be avalible on ADSL can be found @:

You Fox as in Fox-hound?

Ntl has said that they will not allow servers to be run when you have a cable modem. It would Fcuk up other users performance.

Boo hiss. Permanent servers maybe, but it'd be nice to be able to run your own server for a game or two. I've played on an American guy's cable modem server like that.

Ntl do port scans altho it turns out most of the ppl they scan are ip gurus and confuse them by sending ghost pakcets etc...
Anyway so Ntl do scan ports, if they find a 80 running they will disconnect you. Ftp is similar they are not to be run...
However that would be quite hard to enforce, there is no proper thing on game servers, everyone I know runs them of the cablemodem.
