I have that V90 modem, and for games like TFC and Q2 my ping is usually about 150, sometimes even lower... which was nice !

Well I know that Telewest will be launching a FULL cable modem service with a 10Mbit connection on the 31st of March 2000. As supposed to NTL's scanky 512k connection

Right, and what chance have you got of getting your full 10Meg all the time?

That's why NTL capped theirs. It means you get used to a realistic bandwidth, which means there's more chance of them being able to sustain it.

After all, there's few sites you'd actually be able to leach that much from anyway, and it'll make sod all difference for games.

Oh, and if you think these boards will run faster in the evenings-forget it. The bottleneck is at WP's end. I get marginally better performance with my NTL cable modem than analogue dial-up.

Still m8, i bet you wouldn't mind the chance of getting the full 10mb would you? I don't particularly care if its 512kb or 10mb, anythings gotta be better than this crappy damn modem. http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/tongue.gif
