Well, i do know that Telewest Cable company are launching their cable modems in march (hopefully) and they said it will be a standing charge of about £30 - £40 always connected fee per month. ADSL pales in comparison to this and as you can say may cause problems with ISP providers, Cable overcomes this because you will be using their own ISP.

Sounds like things are getting better for us on-line gaming people (at last)
Ive been following ADSL for a while now and i belive that bt could suprise us all for their BTI ADSL services. If you have a look at when ADSl was being tested, BT told people that they where not going to give other companies access to ADSL, so that everyone has to use BTI but Oftel told tem that they were not having that and that BT had to give other companies access to ADSL. BT now have the biggest competition of all in the form of NTL who own C&W and who will soon own Telwest and they need somthing to compete wth Cable modems because otherwise not only will the people move to Cable, so will the ISP's. Due to these facts, i belive that BTI's ADSL service will be priced well below the other service providers (maybee as little as £30) and most likely will be the same as the Cable Modem service. If you are interested in using ADSL over Wireplay though, you do have to remember that in a few years time everyone will have a ADSL line or a cable modem and with thousands of people on the service at once speeds of 500k/sec will just not be possible. Personaly i am going to wait till mid next year to see what BT do wit their ADSL service and their new dual modem service to decide which one will be best for me.
