ADSL QUESTION PLEASE ANSWER IF YOU CAN

High i live out int he middle of nowhere and normally ping in at 500-600, as you can imagin this makes things difficult.

When adsl gets into full force will i be able to get it or will be be EXCLUDED or PRICED OUT OF IT due to my location?

If the answer to the above question is no then does anyone have an idea of when it may become available?

Hi Mav,
In order for you to qualify for adsl you must be with in 3 miles of the telephone switching
station. If you live out in coutry, I dont think you will be able to get it. =( Cost for adsl runs about $49.00 per month, that's for a speed of 128kbs up stream and a
383kbs up to 1.5Mbs down stream. It comes with 1 ip address. Thats what it costs in the USA. Im feeling a wee bit randy, I think I'll play with my vibrator now. =) Bu Bye

Hey mary me thinks you need a cold shower!
With ref to adsl,you need to be within 3.5Km not miles (not a big diff) and price WILL be £49.99 per month for a 256 up/512 down,and yes it is well worth it,just check my pings next time you see me on a server!!as good as isdn,but with no call charges and a 24/7 connection....screw isdn...hehehehe

Thanks all but i fear that i am way too far out, i appologise for my lack of info but i now know that i will not get it.

If u wait a few years for the more advanced dsl technologies u will be able to get it aywhere in the country.

Oh well looks like i am a hpb for the long hall well at least until the afforementioned dsl systems come in to use.
