Excellent. I click the link, and after trying to load 1 image, my computer locks up completely. Nice. 4 times now.

OK, the events section in Multiplay uses a Java appelet to detect Shockwave flash. if you don't have the plugin, it attempts to load a simple .gif image as a replacement. However, there is a known error in Netscape 3.x and 4.x where this causes a lockup.

A simple way round this is to go straight to the page that's in the frame at http://www.multiplay.co.uk/events/events.html

Sorry about that, we keep meaning to convert the whole damn thing to .gif but have been too busy sorting out LAN parties (priorities right here).

The "other" section will have people playing Total Annihilation and loads of Strategy and other games... so you're sure to find a game of whatever you want. Last time it was just QuakeWorld guys and they were not contest at TA and Starcraft... took on 5v2 and still waxed them :-)
