I am sorry but erm...
For those living in the north like Scotland and North of England. It is going to take an awfull long time to get to Bicestor.
Did you not consider putting it at least an equal distance for south and north to travel? Not just right above LONDON
Eg. I am live in Carlisle and it took say 3 hours to get to Birmingham last year. It could take an etire day to get to Bicestor

I agree that more central would be better (even though I would do), but I think the decision this time had a lot to do with the venue we'd need to accommodate so many people etc etc rather than just convenience of travel.

Bicester is just a short trip down the M40 from Birmingham, so if it took you 3 hours last time, it'll take you 3.5 hours max to get to Bicester.

Also, there is likely to be a coach coming down from Edinburgh, depending on numbers, meaning all the scots have an opportunity to save themselves the drive and get ****ed on the coach :-).

Bear in mind that the majority of the population of the UK live below Watford, and from the submissions most people are coming from areas within 2 hours of the venue. As Lord Satan has rightly said, the venue choice for this event was critical. There aren't many places that can handle 300 PCs blaring let alone have all the other minor details that make a great LAN party (cheap bar, ability to bring your own food, etc. in).

It's not discrimination against people from the North m8. In fact, we're planning a LAN in Glasgow for later on in the year, along with LANs in Loughborough and some other northern locations.

People from the South are having to drive too m8. We're coming from Southampton and that's a good 2 hour drive to Bicester. As for the people coming from Cornwall, I hate to think :-)
