I don't know if you know (nudge nudge...) but there is a fantastic multiplayer FPS game floating about at the moment called TRIBES which is designed for big games, and is best played over a LAN from the teamwork POV.

Anyway, I set up a server for it every week on a local LAN that I run locally. I was wondering if you would allow me to connect my second machine to the network to act as a Tribes server. As I noticed your form asks for people who are able to bring extra PC's as servers, I assume you are planning for this sort of thing?

Lemme know anyway.

Also, I will be available (like last time) to install / setup PC network cards and troubleshoot for anyone who trusts meh :-P to do so. Like last time, the cost of my help is one beer, or your firstborn child/sister, at my discretion. http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif

Also, like last time, I will be withdrawing this service at midnight so I can actually play some games, cos 7 hours of continuous network hardware/software problems left me a bit drained http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif

I'm loking to provide 12 servers. Fingers crosssed. Needless to say, the server situation will be good this time.

Russdy,

Yup, we heard about it. It was played non-stop at our last LAN party in Salisbury a couple of weeks ago.

If you can bring along a server to run it that'd be ace... we'll probably be keeping all servers up on the stage and out of the way :-)

I'm also having 2 ISDN lines installed so we can download patches etc and also the Starsiege demo to put on the network!

Do you really want to test the thing on a massive network, I'm sure id would be pleased with the feedback but I doubt anyone else would if it brought down the whole thing http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif
That and there will be only one map

and one thing I have always wondered how ppl say id is it like I.D. or that spiritual thing? Or something along those lines can't remember.

Or we could all fit on a net server with 300 pings and rape the crap out of some net players http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif

hmm, maybe not
http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif
would have to have each of us on rate 200 or sth silly.

Speaking of which, try playing on a rate of 250.

It's really funny, Unless ity happens to be league game, and you spend 5 minutes wondering why the f.uck your ping spikes to 800 all the time, and realise it as due to a mistype!

Uprising - Tribes Demo ? hehehehe you know not the extent of certain people evils ( or is that corporational ignorance as a safety method ? )

About the servers could someone identify who will be doing em this time as in who is responsible for running the servers etc and who will bring the machines
Just so I know who to kick at 3am when the QW server dies http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif
(its actually so we dont get Players doing it like last time esp considering we are paying)

The servers for Quake World are being sorted out by Sniper's admin team. Each area is being looked after by a team of admins dedicated to that game.

More details on servers, etc., will be posted as soon as we know.
