View Full Version : FALSE SUBMISSIONS!

We've had a few submissions come through with deliberately falsified information given. I do not appreciate having to ring multiple wrong numbers, being made to look a right prat asking for someone who doesn't live there, when querying duplicate submissions, etc. All that will happen is I'll cancel all bookings under your name!

On the signup form we ask for a number of details. Some of the fields are optional, but the ones marked with an asterisk (*) are essential. We don't ask for these essential details for fun. Here's the reasoning:

If you have given us a Wireplay User Name that does not match your personal details, when Wireplay check your submission it will be rejected.

Age on 26th March: This is for obvious legal reasons, not because we are going to be watching who is going to the bar like hawks. Anyone who is under the age of 18 requires signed parental consent in order to participate in the event (forms are sent out by post for this, in a few weeks time). The main reason for this is that if you are under 18 you cannot give consent for hospital treatment and neither can we (unless we have parental consent to do so). This can delay the medical authorities in treating you, as they must contact your legal guardian to obtain consent.

We need addresses in order to send your ticket to you. If you have given a false or incomplete address you won't get your ticket and will be refused entry at the event without it, even if you know the booking number. This is for security reasons.

We need phone numbers in order to contact you if we have any queries regarding your booking, or if, heaven forbid, anything happens to you at the event and we need to contact someone.

Of course, some mistakes are genuine, and I will be attempting to contact everyone who has incomplete submissions, or if duplicate submissions have been received.

I won't post names of the people I have already identified as posting false submissions. Suffice to say you will be receiving an email (if you've given me your correct email that is) stating that your submissions have been deleted.

This may all sound a bit heavy-handed, but we have enough work to do sorting this event out without having to spend time trying to contact people who think it's funny to waste our time.

If you think you have given inaccurate details then please get in touch with me asap at wizzo@multiplay.co.uk or more urgently on 0131 2259517.

Craig "Wizzo" Fletcher

Sorry to say this guys, but going through checking for these false submissions is delaying me posting the attendance list and waiting list on the Multiplay site. I hoped to have it up tonight but it's likely to be tomorrow afternoon now.

Help!

I registered using all my correct details on the LAN webby because obviously i want to come.
However for some obscure reason i have been playing on pay as you play with wireplay since the beggining and when i originaly filled out my wireplay details almost a year ago i most likely used made up personal details, I do this out of habit as i dont like giving free information to peoples databases.
Does this meen i will be rejected?
Please so no, i will show you my passport if you like.

Rainbow,

Don't worry m8... that post is aimed at people deliberately trying to flout the system. You'll probably get a phone call from me asking to clear things up if Wireplay queries your booking, and since you've given us correct details there'll be no "the number you have dialled is not recognised" or "who? wrong number m8!"... grrrrr!
