I remember last time someome mentioned something about PC's with Windows NT Server installed on them.

I know about some of the probs this can cause, having several on a network etc. So ermm, can you just lemme know what you want me to do if my server PC has say.......NT server 4.0 for small businesses?

And don't even ask how I afforded it.......

We'll have our own PDC set up for the network, so basically the best idea is to have nothing else apart from BDC's and standalone servers, to keep things nice and simple. If you're running a PDC, if you could set up another partition and install a standalone server to that, it'd be the best option.

I only got NT server to learn it and I have done very little of that.

Unfortunatlely projects and a Tribes mod are beckoning me, so I have no idea what you're talking about. Well, not enough to know what they all stand for http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif

I'm sure we can sort it when I get there.

PDC = Primary Domain Controller
BDC = Backup Domain Controller

You get three options when you install NT Server, and to keep broadcasts down and generally have better performance we'll run one big domain (one PDC, a couple of BDCs and all the rest standalones).

If someone does bring a PDC and doesn't want/no space for another partition then it is possible to work around it with some clever promoting and demoting of servers.
Just everyone thank the Lord that this is what I work with every day at work http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif

PS Oh does anyone want me to bring a Workstation and Server CD? I can nab a copy of Technet as well for emergencies.
