What Are The *Other* Games???

Aah, I'm glad someone else mentioned CMRally - racing games appeared to have been missed off everyone elses play list but I know that Chas (CMR CC) wants to play it too... Should be good...

I too am not a huge Quake fan - and I'm certainly not much good but I felt it would be worth having it on the HDD as there is bound to be times when I'll end up playing it...

I've heard people mention a few titles, but I was wondering which games I should get on my PC before the event??? I don't want to end up sitting in a corner playing solitaire on my own whilst everyone else is playing TA or something...

I've *just* downloaded the 100 or so mb of Quake II mods, so that should cover my shooting needs - but what else is everyone going to be playing???

The other games include everything from TA and C&C to Starcraft, Wargasm, Air Attack and Half Life. It's not an understatement to say that all games are played at these events.

But TA, Starcraft, Red Alert. (half life), them games will get played s**t loads over the weekend. As I said before, I'm yet to meet a player who is good at TA (well, better than me should I say).

If anybody has motorhead, don't forget it, it was played a hell of a lot at the last LAN party. I'm bringing Warcraft 2 and Age of Empires as you don't need the full version to play multiplayer you can share CD's.

If you haven't installed the windows games (hearts in particular) then get it installed there were a few people playing (ahem!) where a few quid was thrown in the pot and whoever had the lowest at the end of game took the pot.

One thing that concerns me is updates and patches. Many games require update patches to be played with other people and i know for sure if i manage to go i'm gonna load my 10gb disk with every game possible. But what happens if we get there and someone has v1.00 compared to the next persons v3.99? Will there be someone sitting on a computer connected to the net with a CD writer for us downloading the latest patches and mods?

guys, all patches will be made publicly available for DL, plz try to get them ASAP once the event starts (I.E> b4 the network starts getting clogged, so your FTPing doesnt interrupt games).

also, there will be set times to FTP your stuff (I expect, this is the sensible way to do things) around. So Pr0n gathering at 4am, doesnt just happen in my bedroom then.....

TA = Total Annihilation, certainly one game I will be looking to play, as well as Colin Mcrae (of course), Populous, Half Life, Rumble and maybe even the odd game of Quake.
