Stealthbuda: You could try buying one and if it doesn't work, download the programs that will 'crack' you're drive allowing you to play region1 disks.
However you didn't here this from me although I got it from a Creative Rep!!!

Fella buys a DVD Playa and imediatly he is an expert in them. 2 Save you some money there in your manual (yes you have to read it sometime), it might tell you if it is region 1 or 2 or whatever. Most likely if you bought it in Britain it will be region 2 only however I have seen one that you can change the region on it a limited number of times however like mist says you can get some sort of "cracks" for your computer. If you do watch out for them 'cause the are most likely illegal and if they screw your computer up you will not be able to use the manufacturers services to help. You will have to search manually for them using specific search engines so if you don't find them on one use another
