i dont think i can but it was just a thought, and while your at it if i can could you tell me how?

AFAIK no, it requires a DVD player. Either a PC DVD player or a standalone.

ah.. anyway as me old fella above correctly states you do need either a pc dvd rom drive or a standalone living room type drive.
for PC's depending on your processor it is also advisable to buy a MPEG card these can be bought seperatly or bundled with certain dvd (rom) drives eg:creative.

believe me even with my p2 450 i noticed an improvement with the mpeg card..

also worth you investigating is the fact that dvd titles are region encoded...bear this in mind when you purchase your equipment....
