View Full Version : Pioneer 10 x slot in dvd rom drive

hi can anyone who has this drive tell me weather it can play region 1 and 2 dvd's if it cant can you name any good ones that do. Also if you do have this drive could you tell me your opinions of it.

Its a good drive - the slot loading mechanism is slick, although i dread it ever going wrong - can't stick paperclips in to get the disc out like u can with drawer loaders :)

It can play region 1 and 2, you just swap the jumpers over at the back of the drive. However, you can only swap the jumpers over three times before the drive stops working, so you have to choose which region you are going to use and then stick to it.

The transfer rate is pretty good on CDs but my advice would be to keep ur existing CD Drive, which will probably be quicker and slot the Pioneer in a spare bay.

i have the pioneer 6x A103 one and it is jumpered to region 2, but with remote selector i can choose what region to set it for whenever i want, unless the film itself has any protection
