REGION 1 Vs REGION 2

most of the credit for this post should go to jetbow as he reminded me of how crap region 2's are.

Why are region 1's better

1. There cheaper over all and when you use the internet the price is postage and packaging included.
2. They have more special features, some over the same films on region 2 have no special features while the region 1's have loads.
3. Ive noticed that some of the pictures in region 1's are better on my tele in RGB mode.

Why are region 2's good
1. Ummmmmmm

ah more a trait of imports, games have always been like that, CDs from www.cdnow.com (http://www.cdnow.com) are like that, um and now DVDs.. dunno who to blame but I'd like to ram my frekajkkd..

I kinda have to disagree in a um.. no you're right eheh.

R2's are picking up though. And the er price.

Dunno what that is, but R2's have a higher resolution um.. vertically. heh. But that's just theory...

For prices though if you go to www.play247.com (http://www.play247.com) ( er I dont work there btw vXL :) ) you'll see that the R2 prices aren't that much higher, and in fact.. stuff like 'Ben Dover' and 'Ben behaving badly' etc.. are quite cheap..

..and er.. proper films. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come, it's mainly just highstreet shops ripping peeps off el duderino, um and even then.. if you bought 2 20 quid ( eek ) DVDs at Smiths ( eek ) you'd get the second half price.. which equates to 30 quid for 2.. ( ahhh )... which isn't so bad since its an instant buy and no trekking down to the poxy post office to convince the fat grumpy chap in the window that the parcel behind him's yours..

that's er not a generalisation for you post office workers btw. no, just leave it.

RGB is reb,green,blue

some of the new teles have it. Its not ntsc and its not pal http://forums.gameplay.com/ubb/teeth.gif

But my picture improves for region 2's and region 1's which is weird. But my imported thin red line is miles better than all my region 2's. Who knows.

Like you said region 2's are improving, however until all the special features are just as good as the region 1's I shall continue to buy region 1's. Except for the mask of zoro which has more than region 1. THAT IS WEIRD.

Yep play 247 is great, I got most of my dvd's from there. Except ive never bin to that section you been to. Cant think why.

R1 and R2 stand for region 1&2
which means in monkee shamblee langue that uk players play region 2 dvd which is europe and japan
and usa players play region 1 which is usa and canada
so unless u have a hacked machine u can only play region 2 here........
