I've recently got into the DVD phenomenon and I'm still finding my way about. Can anyone tell me if I can play R1 DVD's on my R1 Toshiba SD2109B?

Ive got a Pioneer 104s and it ownt read my r2 fils, its an arse cause ive only got r2's films!!!!!
I have a disk that suppoessed to make it region freee but it didnt work?
any ideas

No it can not play R1,I've got a Tosh
You need to have it chipped,If you can do it yourself with a soldering iron (I wouldn't)get chips from Link on 01733 553333 for around £35.
A mate did mine,plays R1 and R2 ok.

Erm, I have a tosh 2109 and it didnt need no chip, it needed a slight sofware chage at the factory and it cost me all of £5 more.
Most dvd players are made to play all regions but the downgrade them.
Some however do actually need hardware chaging.
But my 2109 didnt. It was purely software.
