Confused male seeks technical guru

I NEED HELP
I have a DVD player in my PC
I have InterVideo WinDVD
I have Snake Eyes on DVD

Problem : I cant watch Snake Eyes on DVD
Whenever I try to start in playing, it freezes up, 2 or 3 seconds into the film.
I'm getting increasingly buggered off by this, as I can't wait to utilize my 4 speakers.

So PLEASE HELP ME!

What speed and spec PC are you running on?
What DVD drive?

It appears it was a faulty disc
I rented out "Elizabeth" and it ran, albeit very jerkily
I've now got newer drivers and hopefully I can enjoy the next DVD film I rent out!

is it totally freezing up, like a lock up or just very jerky film that pauses now and again?

I used to get the latter and sorted it by reinstalling the drivers that came with my pc for my vid card (Nvidia TNT) rather than using the updated ones.

Also, if you install the latest Bus Master drivers for your motherboard, that helps a heap.
BUT be warned - if u have a cd writer, they can kick up a fuss with Bus Master drivers if you use Easy CD Creator 4.
