American Pie

I've been looking around some sites 'cause I want to buy American Pie, but there are 2 versions. One is rated R and the other is Unrated. Whats the difference/best one to get?

you can get the unrated version which i have. This is the better version as you get to see more of Nadia (The Romanian chick)and there are some extra scenes. You can get this
dvd from www.dvdexpress.com (http://www.dvdexpress.com) for £14.95 including Postage look in the chart section on the home page.

I tried ordering it from DVDExpress, and they emailed me back saying that because it is 'unrated' it is classed as Adult material and is banned in the UK!

How the heck did u get it?

Ive got it and its facking brilliant. Seen it at the cinema and loved it so i jumped at the chance to get the unseen footage rolled into it.

illuvator m8,your right American pie (unrated) is the bizz.but do your self a favour m8,order your R1 disc's from www.play247.com (http://www.play247.com) ,the most expensive film ive bought from them was only £19 with the normal prices in around £17 and goin down to £15,,,,,,,,,and now the postage on R1 dics is free,,

S'funny I've bought loads of discs from DVDExpress and some of them were unrated. Never had a problem. P'raps an off day for the customer services work experience boy.....

Even after I asked them to send it anyway, they wouldn't. Don't see what the problem is, as theoretically, all R1 disks are unrated - because the BBFC have not rated them.

Oh well...

The BBFC and customs have nothing to do with each other.

If Customs decide that something is obscene they can impound it, the fact that the BBFC hasn't rated a R1 disc is irrelevant. You’ll receive a C&E 41 Notice of Seizure: Indecent and Obscene Material 7/93, a few months later.

In fact, if your friends from overseas send you a home video and Customs deem it indecent they have the right to impound it.

Even what Customs deems obscene isn’t the same as what the BBFC considers obscene. There have been cases of the BBFC passing pornographic films for distribution in 'special' shops within the UK. The companies then import the title only to have Customs seize them.

Death to customs telling me what I can and cannot view I say!!

Went to www.play247.com (http://www.play247.com) as reccomended by hurricane and hes right its gr8 for both R1&R2 and its got American Pie unrated version and its an english site so you should have no probs getting it.

:eek:Hes wrong about one thing tho the prices go as low as £11.99 and postage is free for both regions :eek:

I received my copy of American Pie uncut from www.play247.com (http://www.play247.com) this morning (18th feb) and I watched it this Evening. To be perfectly honest I cannot see even a smidgen of a reason why Customs would impound this title on the grounds of obscenity. Indeed I would challenge the official form you receive and get the title to be judged in court.

It amazes me that Customs have impounded this at all … from a customs (not a personal) point of view, more obscene things have been broadcast on UK TV!

Just on what grounds are Customs impounding this title?
