Football and computing have been together since computers were born.

I remember owning a Commodore 64 (no sarcastic comments please) and playing stunning football games as Emlyn Hughes International Football and the ultimate 64 classic Microprose Soccer with its 360degree banana kick. Things progressed and I upgraded to the genius of Sensible Soccer on the Amiga. I used to play it for hours. Finally the PC comes along and I moved to Actua Soccer 2. It’s a classic of its day and must surely be the best football sim on the PC for its gameplay.

I would appreciate your comments on games of old and games of the future. In particular good footie sims over the net. As anybody played a stunning internet footie sim ?(except for AS2)

UT is OK, but nothing amazing.

AS2 is the best footy game around at the moment but Uefa 2000 is on it's way

I love 3d death games. Grown a bit tired of them recently but that’s mainly because I get my butt kicked on multiplayer games.

Time is ticking until the release for UEFA 2000. I have heard whispers it could be here in the next few months.

Emlyn Hughers was good fun, but the classic for me had to be Kick Off on the Amiga. My mate used to run a league with 2 divisions and we used to meet up once a week for league games, they were the days ;)

Now i think the best footy game is Fifa 99, i prefer it still to Fifa 2000, but no net play, a bit of a bummer.

Cheers,

Chas
