View Full Version : Actua Soccer 3 club..
Hi ...
I know i'm new here but I couldn't help
noticing the lack of a decent AS3 player's club, which is a tragedy cos it's a great
game... so I've set up a player's club, and
I'm planning to organise games and tourneys
once we get enough people...
So please, if you've got AS3, you've gotta
get into this club !!
Cheers...

I would gladly join, but it crashes when I try to play multiplayer, just ask AS2web...
You also have to know that posting in this forum was quite pointless, as noone ever check in here (apart from me ocaisionally). There was once an AS3 club...
Oh and AS3 is far too easy...You can score from anywhere as soon as you take off auto shooting... In a 3 minute game, I mangaged to beat Leicester by 7 goals to 4...and that was as Wolves, on pro mode...
But Im ranting now, suffice it to say that when I abandoned it my Wolves team was top of the premierleague...
Oh, and if you want to advertise your new club to outsiders, you could do worse than to draw their attention to this:
http://www.zoofootball.com/lego.asp?id=5339
where they can get Actua Soccer 3 for 1 pound 50, (my pound button don't work)
That is 1 pound 50 pence. I got my copy from there. They are also selling Premier Manager 99 for 1 pound 50 there...
Also, if you really want to advertise to people who care (and I guess you would) go along to the Actua Soccer 2 tournament held every Syunday at 6:00PM on openplay which is run by Xing.
I think that's all, good luck with setting it up and stuff, and if you want more info or the above link doesn't work (though I can't imagine you do as I've droned on for ages) my ICQ number is 56565899
Bye
Alan AKA Pixie Pete/Paul
PS: The throw ins are ridiculous, you can clear your half with a throw in on Actua 3...

I'm certainly up for a good game of AS3 if there's an organised tourny....(although I don't rate it as much as AS2, it's still a good game).
And as a blantant advert check out my Actua Soccer 3 website at http://actuaweb.gamestats.com/as3 !!! It's cool you can even download the as3 editor written by me (although don't use this if your gonna play on wireplay it will cause lag!!!)
Cheers...

Agreed. AS2 is better. I don't own AS3 any more but I may buy it again just to play in your tournies.
FIFA bites.
It's good to see an Actua forum and no FIFA one! Sadly, the FIFA one would have more appeal to the masses, though.
*Thinks: FIFA games are all identical*

This is really going to annoy some of the peeps in here, but I quite like the FIFA games. I think they have more long term appeal than the Actua games, because Actua 3 is too easy, and Actua 2 has annoying little problems - such as it is impossible (okay, someone is bound to correct me here) to score from inside the area. The second annoying problem is the way that the keepers dive out of the way.
I actually went to World Cup 98 (the game, not the tourney!) to get away from Actua 2, and find that although it has problems, it is well 'covered over' by the general glossy sheenTM of the title, and all the titles of the FIFA series. I was going to get FIFA2000 from a 2nd hand shop for a tenner, but then i got Actau 3...
Did anyone else think that the gameplay review of FIFA 2000 was a bit harsh?

You're joking, right?
FIFA games are inferior.
Pixie Pete

No joke
Heya!! Me again...
Well judging by the flood of AS related posts that i've triggered, i'd say there's quite a demand for a general AS2/3 club, and i've got AS2 as well, in a cupboard somewhere, so I guess we can cover both games...?
Anyway, i've set up a website at http://go.to/as3 , there's nothing much there yet but it outlines my ideas, and hey - it's a start innit ?
So do go and look and if you have any suggestions feel free to email me !

Xing runs the Actua 2 club m8, so technically, he should occaisionally come and check this room *HINT HINT*.
So, it'll just be Actua 3. Anyway, I signed up, even though I aint got it working yet

This is real...ask me or As2web or Wild Child, we have all taken advantage of this offer for various games...

Cheers, Pete for the following:-
1. For the game purchasing advice
2. For quoting me and being the only person ever to do so.
I looked for AS3 in Derby today, but my search was fruitless. It's a good job I didn't get it, with hindsight.
P.S- It's nice to be welcomed into a forum
without having abuse hurled at me from all directions, like in certain other forums.
P.P.S- Despite playing AS 2 and 3 to death at some stage in the past, I may be a little rusty (translation: poor) at the two. However, I like the idea of the tournies for the two games and would definitely participate. Just tell me where to sign (or something equally as cliched)!

Actua soccer games are the direst piece of trash i've ever had the misfortune to play, in no way do they come to near to any of the other football games around and i'm happy to see that the title has now died a slow death, never to return! :)

You are sooooo wrong. Perhaps you are blinded by the advertising of "3 changes per title" FIFA?
You clearly never gave Actua a chance, and if you did, your experiences ended with Euro 96 or perhaps the demo of Actua 2.
Sorry, but you are just wrong.
Alan
PS: perhaps it was foolish to come into an Actua Soccer forum and tell us all how bad it is.

Pete's right you know (how painful it is to say that)
There has been hardly any difference at all from fifa 98, wc98, fifa 99, fapl stars, fifa 2000, euro 2000
thats 6 games in about 2.5 years hardly any difference between them.
but hey what are we to expect from EA
To tell the truth I don't much like AS2 in single player mode...but it KICKS ASS in multiplayer..and it's so much more realistic than FIFA

Pete- I live in Kilburn, Derbyshire. D'ya know it, m8?
You know- it's the 'place of skanks' near Belper.
You live in Allestree? Do you know anyone called Richard Ball? He moved there from Kilburn. He's 16 or 17.

Do u lads support Derby county, cos Ive got quite a bit of stick off Steve Penna (as2web) for that, and I could do with some support. I have a season ticket :)
We should start a Derby forum...that's 5 WP peeps i know from Derby now!!!!!!!

Anyone can feel free to start an AS2club, as a branch from the official site.
If you are interested in doing so please post here, or email me. Im sure some arrangement can be made.
The AS2websites needs some serious input of time, my days @ work are getting very long (8am-8pm - no breaks, and I need to study on top of that! aarrrgh, probably why it took me two weeks to sort my computer out)

Go on then. I'll start one.
Just tell me what to do.
