Hi all, I'm afraid I need some advice again - I've had Baldur's Gate for a week now and must have put in about 50-60 hours on it since this time last week... Unfortunately I've developed these green circles that seem to have taken up residence between my eyes and my brain... They won't go away at any point of the day or night - with my eyes open or closed... Occasionally they are joined by some red circles and this also disrupts my hearing - replacing normal sounds with those of blade on blade and spooky music...

I've tried thinking of what could be causing this but I keep coming back to Baldur's Gate as the start of these problems - I was hoping someone else would recognise these symptons and offer a cure - perhaps I need a "Remove Green Circles" potion???

Anyway, hope you can help...

Its not wrong to go to Beregost but it really doesn't matter what you do (within certain limitations)... I spent the first few days of playing it thinking I should try and stick as close to the story-line as possible only to then realise that the story was highly flexible with that many sub-plots that you could ignore what you felt you were supposed to do altogether...

I'm just in the last plot of land before complete exploration (not including Cloakwood and Baldur's Gate)... I must have got at least an extra 10 times more enjoyment killing the weird and wonderful monsters that lurk to the sides of the map as I did killing the fat bloke in Nashkel who wouldn't shut-up (and that was enjoyable http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif)...

<weird music starts playing in VELVET's mind accompanied by the sound of metal clinking as the green and red circles begin attacking each other once more>

Got to go...

Velvet M8 - you shouldn't kill the annoying bloke - let him live and you get loads of xp. But then i suppose as there is a max limit of 87000xp why not http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif

Keeping to the story is a good plan, but don't be a slave to it - like you say there is lots of stuff on the edges.

If you don't go to Nashkel then Gorions friends get fed up with you and remind you - I don't know if they will leave you, but they do threaten it.

Once you have been there and completed those mines you get the chance to go explore before the drags you onward.

Does that help?

Now the confession - I've had this for several weeks - been playing at least an average of an hour or two a day (probably more)

My character is 6th level and I have entered Baldurs gate - and am working for both the Flaming fist and the theives guild.

If anyone wants to play - I'll be on on Sunday - plus I plan to Join Velvet in Legal Crime on Thursday night.

Hmm - I think we're going to spend most of Legal Crime discussing Baldur's Gate as most people who turn up to the tournament are as addicted as I am http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif

I'll be there on Sunday I'm dying to have a proper online game (and not just to show off my cool char http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif)... Personally I'm just about to enter the Cloakwood Mines having done the other areas of it - I'm really looking forward to getting to Baldur's Gate - I've heard good reports of it...

Personally - in terms of characters who join your party I've found the ones that are best are those that you've saved (like Branwen the Cleric who had been turned to stone and Dynaheir the Mage who was at the Gnoll Stronghold)... If they aren't with you for a specific reason they don't get annoyed when you go off exploring some new land you've followed when you should be killing wyverns etc...

Anyway - see you tonite Athanateus mate where we can try and get the little Legal Crime blokes to cast spells and any attempts at extorting businesses are stopped by the Flaming Fist http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif

Cheers
