How do you do make the floating ship of Halruaa thing with the 3 spell pieces?

What do you do with the Nyphm's lock of hair, is it something to do with a cloak?

What do you do with the telescope?

What do you do after you've killed everyone at the Iron Throne?

Where is Eiroc (or something) who needs the talisman of luck (an amulet of protection) from Nadine?

Where is the sixth statue geezer who's supposed to have the Cloak of Balduran, I've only found 5 and one was missing?

Where is the body of the dead geezer who is in the water house?

What do you do with Angel the cat/Petrine who's been bugging this guy?

TIA
Ouie

I'm not going to answer all of those as frankly I don't know the answers but:

You can't make the ship...

Take the lock of hair to the big mage shop to get it made into a cloak...

Nick the telescope and give it to a little dwarf in the Elfsong(?)...

After you've killed the Iron Throne dudes and you've done everything else you want to in Baldur's Gate go and speak to Scar and/or Duke Eltan at the Flaming Fist building...

Eiroc could be anywhere - never found him (didn't really look to tell you the truth)...

I only found 5 stoned (as in turned to stone) guys too - I think it may have been a typo or failing that they didn't have time to create a 6th...

I got the body of the dead child brought to me by speaking to some of the people in the Temple Of Umberlee... If they don't give you the body then kill 'em all (but don't let them know it was me who told you to do so)...

Miaow...

Heh - you're not wrong m8 http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/stare.gif

I was going to do a search on this forum, Ouie's name and ?s but I thought it would probably overload the server...

Anyway, looks like us Baldur's Gate hand holders will be out of a job soon - unless Ele manages to come unstuck http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/teeth.gif

Argh...ouie, no offence, but wouldn't it be more fun to find out for yourself? Um.

Haven't been able to play tonight - had to do me assignment that's due in tomorrow. Well, today now. Humph. And I wanted to clear out the Firewine dungeons today (sorry, I only bought it a couple of days ago) but I'm not starting that at 1.45 am...

Well, maybe just one go http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/wink.gif

i agree ele http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif

If you read all ouie's questions, and then our answers, it means you wont have to buy the game http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif

It seems like there is nothing that we havent covered already on this board (although i'm sure ouie will find something http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif )

At least hes only got 2 chapters left now, so hopefully he'll finish pretty soon (well, in a year or so http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif )

I've only been frustrating myself over these things since I've been wandering about for almost 20 days playing time and doing nothing but finding more quests that I can't complete

And these will be the last questions I'll ask, unless I get stuck on something critical do with the main story line

Me too - you can ask what you want Ouie m8...

Its not always necessary to know how to make a cloak or find something though, just do what you feel happy doing and if you get stuck then leave it and do something else...

Probably should have mentioned that earlier http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/shades.gif

Heh - nah Velvet, I'm far too pigheaded to ask for help http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/wink.gif. Even if I'm really stuck I'll just wander around the game doing stuff ("that's right, click on everything in your inventory - something's gotta work." Um..from one of the Zork games, apparently).

I may ask for advice occasionally (like with the Nashkel mines thing - in the end it wasn't a problem, 5 level 2 characters had no problem with it http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif)but I'm not likely to play much for the next month - I've got 3 assignment due in the middle of May, and two of them are huge (what sort of lecturer doesn't put a limit on words??).

Bah. Finally found a single player game that I really enjoy and might keep me of the Net for a bit, and I don't have time to bloody play it. Humph.

Ouie - I wasn't criticising - if you want to ask questions and you're really stuck, that's up to you. But I don't think this is the sort of game that you're going to do all of in one play through - I'd reckon on at least three completions of the game before you've done even three quarters of the tasks (including all the minor ones).

Um..but then I'm still in the dungeons at the firewine. Bah.

Part of the reason I'm asking is because I don't like having to reload the game and move back and forth, it's already bad enough with my technical problems and the slowdown I get when all 6 guys are moving and when I move to another location, it randomly crashes and just realy ****es me off

Baldur's Gate is one of the most buggiest games I've played

Ele,

the sort f lecturer who doesn't put a limit on the number of words is a very clever guy, and the person who does a (comparatively) short info packed job is much more likely to get a good mark than the person who hands in a 70,000 words novel filled out with 90% crap. Just because there's no limit on size doesn't mean you have to do a really long job, if the question asked can be ansered with one word http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/teeth.gif do it, or a sentence like "this is all bollox" is always good for a laugh.

don't overdo things because there's no set limit to the number of words, I always had problems with my 3,000, 5,000 and 10,000 word assignments at colloege mainly because I could get all the important stuff down in about 1,500 words and would then have to add thousands of "padding" words to make it to the word limit.

I'd have been overjoyed to get assignments that had no word limit.

Hope they go well anyway mate and keep BG as a backgroud resource of great therapeutic value http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/teeth.gif

Heh..I should've made myself a bit clearer Tigs.

I agree that someone that gives no limit on words in an assignment where information can be given in a brief, information-intensive format is clever, but this guy's not like that...The first assignment of him was to "perform a S.W.O.T. Analysis on <fictional company name> with recommendations on how to maximise their strengths, minimise weaknesses, grasp opportunities and combat threats."

There followed an 8 and a half page case study on the company in question. To get a decent mark, the assignment had to be laid out exactly the way he wanted it (he didn't specify that in the assignment itself though). My assignment was 5,782 words long, and that was as concise as it could be, given the content. I got a distinction though http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif.

The next assignment is worse - the case study is shorter but far more difficult to understand and analyse, and again it's gonna be at least a 5000 word job to do it justice. Bah.

Still, I've got a nice 1000 word (well, two 500 word) one on Managing Finance to do tonight. Me doing managing finance..that'd have my bank manager roflhao http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif

Ouie -what sort of PC are you playing on? I've experienced no slowdown whatsoever, even with 6 characters and about 20 Kobolds on screen at the same time. And I haven't noticed any bugs, either.

Cyrix M2 300
96Mb RAM
Viper V550 Riva TNT (PCI) 16Mb SGRAM
36X CD
DirectX 6.1
300Mb cache on Baldur's Gate

Viper V550 with latest drivers isn't certified by MS so DirectX 6.1 isn't liking it too much

Game pauses briefly every time you enter a new room-really annoying if there's a monster on the other side
Crashes out to Windows randomnly while ingame
Crashes while saving and loading
and when I do ctrl-alt-del, it says some MSRGV32 (or something like that) isn't responding
Can't handle 6 guys on the move, always stutters, even worse when there's a pile of monsters around

Other problems:
Can only play games on a clean boot-1 game per boot
Doesn't seem to be affecting non-DirectX stuff
Games wont work with Wireplay-for the game to run it has to be a on clean boot with nothing done to it and Wireplay messes it up
Half Life gets a Direct Draw error when playing on Wireplay but not on single player (from a fresh boot) I've tried to turn it off but then Half Life doesn't support OpenGL
Rumble gets a VNet error on Wireplay

Any suggestions?

And finally a question on the game http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/teeth.gif
How do you get into the Undercellars?
It says it's in the Wide, below a big tent, left of a wee tent and right of a framework, but there's nothing there
I even went into the sewers to look for an alternative entrance

Oh God you've got DX6.1..

Um..how can I put this...IT SUCKS!

Err..sorry. But it does. I've got an equivalent speed processor (AMD K6-2 300)but a much slower CD drive than you, and I'm only allocationg 140 meg (or whatever the minimum is) to BG as Cache. Err...My guess is it'll be DX6.1. Get it uninstalled if you know how...er...I don't think it likes being uninstalled much, and AFAIK it's still at beta stage. But try going to Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs and removing Direct X drivers from there, and then reinstall DX 6 (I think it's on the BG CD).

Can't help with BG though..I'm still in the Firewind dungeon (don't laugh - I don't get to play much http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/frown.gif)

Get to the Undercellars by checking either all the exits in the sewers (about 4 lead to the Undercellar) or go to the north-east area of the map where you'll find a pub with a tarty name - this leads to the Undercellars too...

I'm using DirectX6.1 and I love it!!!
