Am I a gimp?

I'm just wondering.....
i've decided to play through BG a second time, but this time I'm playing a single player multiplayer (so I can create my WHOLE party http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif).

It struck me that spending a bloody age creating each charecter so they can have straight 18's for almosy everything may be a slitghly gimpish thing to do.

Am I the only one or is this kinda normal?
Is this "cheating"?

We played the whole game through again with just one character, having set him up in multiplayer to have all stats equaling 25 and some nice weapons etc...

To make things easier for you (rather than having to re-roll) I have a character holding all the tomes (which can up your stats pretty quick via multiplayer) at www.funkateers.co.uk/baldurs/THOAM.CHR (http://www.funkateers.co.uk/baldurs/THOAM.CHR) ...

Velvet i have down load charachter and un ziped it and put in me baldurs gate save files how the hell do i get those tomes.

full explention ( doh what a spam head) of how to set this up. Also which patch do u guys recommened !

Thr trouble I'm having with BG at the mo is since it's so easy to **** around with almost everything, I'm finding it hard to define the line between "doing your best" and "cheating".
Not like the good old days of Ultima where so long as you didnt use a hex editor, it was considered "what you are meant to do" http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif

Make sure you put THOAM.CHR in your character's sub-directory and start up a multiplayer game on your own PC...

Then setup your new main character and import THOAM.CHR to fill the other 5... Then its just a case of transfering the tomes over to your main character, using them and then exporting your main guy...

Personally I use the 14.3mb patch but the multiplayer code really is poo so you probably wont stick with it for very long anyway... Me, Tigs and Athanateus spent about 4 hours at the Insomnia LAN trying to get a game going and we never got out of Candlekeep as it kept crashing http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/worry.gif
