Actually it's full of trees.
BG is BIG but only in the same way that the Sahara desert is big. It covers a large area but a lot of it contains b*gger all. Don't get me wrong, I love the game.
Would you really say it's that much bigger than a good old Ultima?

I dunno - I've never played any of the old Ultimas. Or the new ones, come to that.
There's at least one major plot element on most of the screens - and when you add in the dungeons and stuff too (which are often integral to the plot)...um...have you finished it yet BD? Maybe you should reserve judgement on it until then (said the pot, calling the kettle black http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/wink.gif).

Fraid I have completed it a couple of times.
I'm not saying it's a bad game (it's one of the few RPG's I can ever rememebr that I came back to after completeing...infact the only one I can rememebr).
You right in saying there is a plot element in every section, but the fact remains that chances are, the section in question will be a wood.
And if you've never played any of the ultimas, go buy a copy of Ultima 7 (heck, even download it from a warez site http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif).
It is the only other RPG I've ever found that can stand up to BG (ie allows you to nick almost everything) http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/tongue.gif

Heh...they're probably just being accurate then - before industrialisation, most countries are mostly woods http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif.

It'll be interesting to see how many cities we get in the expansion pack...

I noticed you used the plurar "cities".
What places in BG would you call cities? I only thought BG itself was a city and the rest were twons.
I think there will probably be a couple of towns in the expansion, but I doubt there will be anoth really big city. I hope there is though http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif
Well I actually went as far as reading the manual after the second time I completed it - and it mentioned loads of seemingly huge cities within the vicinity of Baldur's Gate...
They'd have to be really mean not to give us at least one of them with each different expansion pack (note: I'm also expecting more than one expansion pack http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/stare.gif)...

What would you prefer? Several expansion packs or a sequel?
Afer so many dull C&C and Quake expansion packs I have almost lost faith in them....
The only decent one I have come across is Core Contingency for TA http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif
Fingers crossed they will make a cracking one for BG, althogh I'm very sceptical.
Well I could cope with another 10 or 20 cds based on what we've already got, followed by a h00j release written just for multiplayer that would ruin the remains of my social life...
