View Full Version : Update
Hmmmm, didn't have a chance to login after the update last night so I wonder if any changes to SSgolems and my little hunting ground down the road from Qalaba'r? Guess I'll find out tonight, maybe they made the golems easier and with more XP ;)
h0mer
Hmmmmmmmmm, what have they done...
I kinda like the new drudges, but they look like they're in the 60s with all the hippy clothes...
I think the water golem looks a little empty... too ethereal to seem to pack a punch. Like the copper golem tho...
Ash gromnies seem to move uber-fast... it darted across my screen while I watched it chasing someone.... very nasty.
They've killed my levelling at fort tethana, when I was so close to lvl 26 and creature magic... all shadows and lieutenants... copper golems and wild monos now... very nasty...
you'll have seen the water golems by now! and eeek, they're weird...
I hate them for what they've done to Teth... I can't levle up there...

my Eastham levelling ground has been besieged by shadows and a lot of the golems have gone.... no more levelling there... well back to the golem burial ground for me... new water golems are okay but a bit fluffy... rest are good... like the muds expression and the sandstones are okay too...
now im a war mage i end up killing all these monsters before they get close enough to look at http://forums.gameplay.com/ubb/worry.gif

In that case velvet... you either fight big groups of hard nasties... or you are wasting too much energy mate
I just take em down in health with the first shot or two (tough luck if they aren't hard enough to take one) then wait till they are almost upon me to deliver the killing blow... hey presto, loot at your feet :)
Mind you... have to be alone in the area for this one... don't want others getting some of that XP
i'm not really in to loot. until my newish mage is nearly as high a level as my two mid 20 characters theres little point collecting food to sell when i can spend 5 minutes with a different character and get 100 times the loot.
hehe Welcome to the world of war magic ;)
I just got my first lvl VI war last night: Whirling Blade VI
I also got creature magic and get lvl V spells straight off, not bad methinks :) did save all my lvl 25 XP and put it into creature at 26 so it's to be expected :)

Yeah, the Gromnies can be nasty on the newbie... you can't see them until you are just about in their aggro range and even then you usually have to wait for them to move before you can see them on radar.
But one tip i could give you is... if you see a corpse floating in the water then there is probably a gromnie or two beside it (or waiting to spawn)
I can kill gromnies with relative ease if you want me to join you on a hunt.... where are you at the moment?
All the beaches i have been on have become harder to hunt since the spires emerged from the ground... but not impossible... I used to enjoy hunting the beach at Eastham, but that has become shadow infested... too magic resistant for me...

Velvet... get yourself fighting water golems... can be solo'd on beaches at war lvl 90'ish+ and give great XP and okay loot... including the infamous pyreal motes worth anything up to 50k p each
just learn how to run =)
Wheres a good beach for this? All my other characters had melee as the main attack and as such lived down dungeons, now I'm on a beach I find I can take on golems easily, but suffer from Grommies about that seem much more powerful with the sticky melee.
its not that i can't see them or kill them, just that when they chase me they can now kill me cause my run is very very crap.
i've moved to glenden wood now, my home town in beta and also the base for our allegiance.
