I have played half life and...well...I get flamed for saying it but I didn't actually enjoy playing it.

OK now that you have stopped ranting I didn't really take to the single player, I started playing it and then got distracted from it for a bit and could never go back. I installed TFC the other day and gave that a damn good thrashing for a few hours but some of the ppl I was playing with were complete cod eyes so it got annoying but when ppl worked together I enjoyed it.

Oh yeah and the net code is ****ter than ****y **** and the **** brigade. I have ISDN so I shouldn't complain but I got pings of 250 on places where I got 45 for Q2 so I wasn't happy.

Hmm - me thinks I'll need to wait till I'm not sharing bandwidth to look at this one...

Less graphically intensive humourous sites next time please Schiz http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/stare.gif

Good job I'm saying this here, where no-one ever looks http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/redface.gif, but I can't stand HL - multiplayer anyway. The lag is ******* *****.

I have to admit to getting hooked on the SP, it even kept me off WP for 3 weeks, more or less http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/stare.gif

Be interesting to see what the boys have to say to it on the HL forum http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/teeth.gif

Hmmmm ISDN - if cable modems weren't coming my way soon I'd have to splurge on that....<must be patient>

No wonder you can get round 100 Uni sites in a day! I went looking at my old one today (Reading), and it took too long even to find out whether they had the net in bedrooms yet http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/frown.gif

<plots justification for local internet feed & own firewall>

Well its 64k via v90... Basically the Wakefield office of the company dials the London office on v90 and then that gets directed through ISDN to the big www... I wouldn't mind too much but I've no idea what sort of programs are running on the London server to track internet usage http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/frown.gif

Tribes is great Cheesey m8... I bought it at Insomnia and played for most of the event and I find its the first game thats really got me hooked in ages... You can play for 6 hours on the trot without realising you have, which in my book is the mark of a good game...

The only downside is that you sometimes end up in a team with a load of w*nkers but more often than not you'll meet some cool people who even on the net are friendly when they see you again...

Personally I can't praise it enough, but then as I'm running the WirePlay Tribes League ( http://www.funkateers.co.uk ) thats my job http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/stare.gif

Hope you get it soon m8...

Um - Tribes - you should love it Scarab m8... Its got flags, lots of teamwork needed plus a whole host of other options...

For a default CTF game you'll be put on one of two teams and you can take on different roles (depending on how you feel)... You might decide to stay defence and deploy turrets and mines to stop your enemy getting your flag... Or you might go offensive and attempt to destroy the enemy radar etc and get their flag...

There is a whole host of other cool stuff, different armour classes for carrying different weapons and an in built chat facility for sending messages to your team-mates beyond just typed rubbish...

Anyway, best thing I've played for ages - probably mainly because I like the teamplay and this has it in abundance...

Think thats about it for now http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/stare.gif
