as it meant I now have a legitimate copy of GP3 for £28.50 :)

And I have worked out how to turn the stearing assist of when using the keyboard (manuals are useful after all  )

Ah cool, so how controllable is that? Cos I cant imagine that I could use that setup at all, normal assisted keyboard yes but not unassisted....

oops, I lied.

turns out that the steering help (p56 of manual) can only be altered on non-keyboard controllers.

That will teach me to read the manual :)

I've done some driving on Monza without the throttle help though, and I seem to average about 1-2 seconds a lap slower than with it on (on Monza). Its a lot more fun driving (controlling a skid is a satisfying thing) - but on tracks like Monaco and Hungry its very very tricky, with all those tight corners. Excelerating out of a corner is next to impossible.

Think we shall have to allow those two options for keyboard users when comparing times :)

I think when the inevitable happens and we are belting around trying to better one anothers times there should be different catagories for what setup you have, whether it be controller type, difficulty settings, whatever, that way we are competing on fair terms.

If your gonna be playing driving games, get a wheel. There is no substitute & it will improve your enjoyment infinately.

have you ever tried driving a real car with a joypad or keys? :bonce:

If I had room for a wheel near my PC I would get one ;)

Until then im stuck with the keys :(

I'd also have to rewire this room to get an extra power supply :)
