There's a utility out that allows you to convert GP2 setups for use in GP3. Though there is a little disclamer in the program as it doesn't do perfect converts.
Info:
GP3 isn't GP2 : Your setups will not work the same way in GP3 as
they did in GP2, but it's a start.
Limitations:
- Tyres are always set to Soft Dry
- Differential is always set to high
- GP3 will report a different track if your extension isn't 'right'
The file is found here (http://gp3.gamestats.com/gp3download.shtml).
The site also has a couple of other utils including a track editor already..
I haven't tried the converter yet. My GP2 setups are on a removable drive that I removed yesterday when tidying some cables up, and havent put it back yet. So let me know whats its like if you try it :)
