I think my biggest gripe has to be the lack of proper support for my MS FF Wheel, and by that I mean not being able to change gear using the paddles. I know you can get it working using the Sidewinder s/w, but IMO this is unacceptable for a modern piece of s/w.

Other gripes include no 3d sound support, no sound from other cars, no pit radio, no formation lap, debris on the track doesnt seem to do any damage if you run over it, and finally who the hell is John Newhouse(Williams driver)?

Apart from all that, I'm still enjoying it even on a PII400. :E
Perhaps I expectd too much?

Yeah, that sounds very similar to my posting yesterday - I'm with you all the way mate. What the hell is it with no sound from the other cars??! No-one else has moaned about this and I think it's one of the most appaling oversights. At least you can get round the controller issue, but unless I have my girlfriend & dog sitting behind me going "nnnnnnnnneeeeeeeeeeeeeeooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww" every time they see anyone in the side mirrors, I get a very strange sense of isolation in the middle of the race...

I think John Newhouse may have been Williams' 3rd string driver or cleaner or coach driver or something, cos Villeneuve had an exclusive games contract or something and wouldn't let his name be used. Arrogant twonk :D.

Was probably a contractual thing rather than Villeneave himself but the funny bit is they cant use his likeness either, go to the driver selection screen and look at the picture next to Frentzens, and who said he drove like a dummy at times? :)

There should have been some sort of sound enhancements in there, there is no excuse for it when you look at stuff like GPL and how that helps (you dont have to look in the mirrors all the time (you wait till you start to hear things).

Ah well, it gives them a reason for GP4 anyway :cynic:
