I've just been perusing http://www.horrordvds.com thanks to [FSA]sLiPkNoT and I just wondered what movie moments have really creeped you out?
Personally, I remember 'The Hand' (don't laugh!) really freaked me out as a kid.
'Exorcist III' where the nurse checks a locked door, turns around, and then a figure immediately races out.
Also the subway kill in 'American Werewolf in London'. Me alone at night in a subway? Not a ****ing chance, mate!

Exorcist 3 is one of the scariest films ever made IMO. Everyone else hates it though. :{

While I found the original Exorcist fairly shocking, I didn't find it particulary scary to watch.
Exorcist III, on the other hand, definitely had the hairs on the back of my neck standing up. It's defintely an under-rated film.

That ugly bold headed vampire in Salem's Lot gave me nightmares for ages.

I haven't seen Salem's Lot in years, so, when it was on C4 a bit ago, I set the video to tape it. Unfortunately, I used PDC and they ****ed it up so it didn't start taping.
*******S!!!
Mr. Barlow the Nosferatu was cool though.

OMG that freaked me out so bad.The fact that its all in 1 shot makes it a lot worse.The film which scared me ****less and still does today is Poltergeist 1+3. "There here!" No **** now get the hell out of the house you crazy kid.She's dead now i here.

Poltergeist was a surprisingly good horror despite it's comic elements.
The clown in the kids bedroom (why are clowns SO damn freaky?), and the investigator whose face falls apart are distinctly memorable.
