Whats the best way to brake just jam the pedal to the floor (i seem to lock up alot) or gently apply. I set the car up and try to set the brake ballance so it doesn't lock the wheels but I'am a Gp newbie and need a little advice.
Thanks in advance for any help

Engine braking helps. Use the gears.
i always press mine about half way, and then as you get to the bend, press a litle further in, but it's all personnal preferance, and how your car is set up, but jamming the brakes full and locking up is not good, and engine braking helps a lot too, especially on the faster turns

Never stamp on pedals, be it brake or throttle. The correct way to brake is more to squeeze it till you can feel any of the wheels begin to grab (lock up) then you must releive the pressure slightly.
You will find as speed decreases so will your braking effort as the effective weight of the car (remember downforce decreases as you brake) gets less.
You will find that once you are braking subtly and are able to control it you will be able to carry on braking gently into corners, which will allow you in turn to brake very slightly later for some corners.
You tend to find that you brake slightly (or at least I do) right up to the point of the apex of the corner, at this time you are ready to get on the throttle and begin to balance the car for the exit. Again this is a similar affair, you squeeze it very gently as you feel the grip on the way out.

Or you could always adjust the sensitivity of the pedals in the advanced control menu. ;)

Thanks guys you have knocked off about 2 seconds each lap.
I is needing that braking advice. I find its my worst control. My left foot doesn't understand brakes, only clutches so it always stamps right down and locks up all the wheels. Maybe I should try driving like a real car and using my right foot for both, but isn't that a lot slower?

I know what you mean choddo, my feet try to drive my real car. Just keep practising mate, I'm sure we'll get used to it.
About the braking, I heard the best way to begin is brake really hard first, then gradually ease off. The wheels won't lock up straight away, so you get full braking. Then you just have to judge how much to ease off without locking up or doing the opposite and not braking enough.
