Hi, im a bit disapointed to see gp3 capped at 25fps. I tried that fps patch and it does feel much smoother at 60fps but it runs so slow. Does any 1 reckon Microprose will release a decent patch to solve this problem?
after you changed the fps did you restore it to the 25 fps in the game options, if you don't it sppears to run very slow, change that and a smile will come to you r lips

oh thanks :) i'll try that now.
Doesn't make a difference does it?
After all there is no real point of going over the refresh rate of your monitor! :)
Er, what?? Hang on DOONY - you're suggesting that you use the FPS thingy to increase the frame rate, and then cos it runs too slowly, you use the in game option to change it back to 25 fps and that makes it smooth again? But then what's the point in changing it up to 60 in the first place??! Far better would be to increase it, then reduce the resolution to 800x600 or turn off a few graphic options to smooth it out but still @ 60 fps.
The reason 60 fps is too slow is that the CPU / fillrate of the graphics card can't run at that speed. If you've got a GF or GF2, then it's probably the CPU. If you've got a Voodoo2 / TNT it's probably the card or both.
And Orravan, at 1280x1024, the refresh rate of my monitor is 85 Hz, so 60 is well under that, although i just run it at 42 anyway - it's easily smooth enough.

Changing back to 25fps didn't work. But now im trying 31 fps and it runs great at 1024x768 no need for 60fps. My pc is a bit low spec for this game. P2\400 Geforce 1 sdr. Im mainly just doing pratice laps because theres too much slow down with all the other cars on the track. But its ok because in about 3 weeks i would have built my new pc. P3\650@866mhz and gf2 :) So then it will really fly and maybe i can start a championship season ;)
