Some ferrari fans bound to do it in future now if the ferrari's need to catch up. Think it's a bit of a farce really, as it's ruined peoples races, even though it may have made it more exciting. Seen this now could lead people to do it on purpose.

Not true at all. His protest was not because he's thick.

The writing on his back said (paraphrased):

Sounds like a good enough reason to mount a protest to me, but there's a time a place for everything. Still, it worked out in his favour, really - Mercedes didn't manage a win with McLaren as a direct result of his protest, so I guess he's pretty happy!

Stupid thing was, he was caught on the formation lap trying to get on to the track. Why didn't they escort him out of the circuit there and then?

If nothing else its a fantastic way to get your own back on your bosses. Couldnt have been on a better circuit either, the place would have been packed with fat German Mercedes execs, willing 'their' (Mercedes engines being designed and built over here of course) team on.
