I need some advice - I have just been ripped of on an auction site (the first time I have ever won anything!)

The guy said he was selling a geforce anihilator PRO OEM. I bid the highest and won for £120 but when I got the card it is just a SDR geforce. The guy basicly told me that it is tough and hasn't responded to any more of my emails and I have contacted the auction site. I need to know if there is anything I can do about it?

A load of people I know keep telling me that auctions are really good and none of my m8s have had any problems. Have I been unlucky or have any of you lot had similar experiences?

Well if it was Flea-Bay, I think they have their own insurance policies that cover for this sort of misrepresentation/false advertising. Other sites i know nothing about.

I've personally "won" a few auctions on E-bay and had no problems whatsoever, but there are assholes/conmen everywhere so u do have to be a bit wary.

Hope u get it sorted. :{

I think you can get them done under sale of false pretendences, and theres another one i forget, btu ring trading standards contact auctionner (which you have) and my uncle vinny

Try and get a print of the actual advert, it may be "useful" and help the auction peepd do something.

I think "Uncle Vinny" sounds like the best option :E .

Is he expensive? Tell him I'll cover travel expenses ...

I actually have an email from the guy confirming that it is a DDR board and I also have the original auction page. Thing is, it was sold on auland auctions and they dont seem to take any responsibility for this sort of thing, "we only act as middlemen" is basicly what they are saying. Las time I use them anyway :(
