Whats the difference between Anime and Manga?
I have only watched a few Mangas so I don't really know much about them ;(

Apart from the fact that they all seem to be either total **** or damn great :E

Anime is the animation you see on TV and mangas are the 'comic books'. Mnay people get these two terms confused, you're not the first ;)

im sorry boz i think j00 is wrong.

Manga, is a Comapy that Produces Anime.

see there are companys that produce anime , ADV, Manga, etc etc. Manga's name just became synonmas with Anime.

i think Boz, u think that manga is magasines, becuase of the magasine "manga Mania", which used to ve sold in this country.

so in short, Manga, produces Anime, most ppl get confused and just call it Manga, i used to once, till i realised i made a mistake.

Steffan-

I dont want this to sound rude, but you are the one who is wrong.

manga is generally used in place of "japanese comic".
when people who know about jap comics talk about it, they will use the word manga instead of the word comic so that people wont get confused over whether they are talking about the american comics (Xmen, spiderman) or jap comics (kenshin, fist of the north star).

like JP said: "manga" in jap directly translates to "irresponsible pictures" and thats what they call their comics.

and Manga is also the name of an anime producer (as you know).

hope thats not confusing. =)

Manga=Japanese for 'irresponsible pictures'. In Japan, comic books are called manga. Fact. When people refer to japanese comic books over here, they call it Manga as that's it's japanese name.

Manga (the company) chose the name Manga obviously as people knew about Anime/Manga and refered to it all as Manga.

Anime=short of Animation. This is all the 'cartoons' you see on TV/cinema.

Ok, I think I understand now, I was wondering why lots of the Anime I saw had Manga written on the box, thats what got me confused, I thought Anime was the movies and stuff (more because it sounded like half of "animation" then because of any actual knowledge) but I think I can jsut about understand everything now :E

Thank j00! :E
