View Full Version : So who the f*** are the Breen?

Up until the latter days of DS9, they were only mentioned as
background info. Then, all of a sudden WHAM!, this kick-ass mofo race appears. And and at several points during the final series, the lead characters are seen to speculate on exactly what lies beneath that life support suit they wear.
Now, it's refrigerated, but i believe Kira or someone said that the Breen homeworld was naturally temperate-so why do they need refrigerated encounter suits?
Is it possible that it's actually a disguise, and if so, who exactly are the Breen, that they're so afraid to be recognised by the other races in the Alpha Quadrant?
I wouldn't bother dwelling on it, as you're never told anything more about them.

I gotta admit that this is a weird thing
They were mentioned a few times. There's one when the doc and worf and garek are in that prison..
but only speculation..and no-one knows what they look like under the suit!!!
Nevermind that Kira beats one up and nicks his/her uniform...I guess she didn't look out of modesty ;-)

there is a lot of speculation around(when isn't there?), that, with Jonathan Frakes believing that ST:Insurrection suffered from the lack of worthwhile 'bad guys', and that ST-X should be more action oriented with a more convincing enemy threat, that The Breen will get the big screen treatment.
Dunno about you lot, but i reckon that could make a pretty good film
Bah, they were a direct ripoff of the bounty hunter costume Leia used in RotJ ffs....
the breen are a top dude race
their ships rock
anyway, they have been mentioned before in tng and ds9 and also in vgr a few times
i think the excuse for them wearing a costume tho was to save the money in designing make up and putting it on etc...
but i think that the brene in a movie would be great
:/
Mozz
I'd like to see a grittier new scene...
a Marquis movie or undercover ops sort of thing.
maybe an ambasadorial (with space age Ferero Rocher)
although the whole thing has shifted now, with the Spoonheaded blokes well and truly kicked in the nads.
oh yeah, the news got through to Belanna didn't it??
oh well, she went spare. Forgot. Nevermind. Well something grittier then.
Since we're speculating about potential bad guys. How bout the parasites from 'Conspiracy'. Apparently a homing signal has been sent so the rest of the population should be well on there way by now. Just think what they could do if they took control of a more suitable race.
hmm, wouldnt be much good for a full film
no real action etc..
common a slug type thing isnt very threatign really, now is it?

How about a weird cloud entity that eats clothes.... er.... particualy womens clothes
hehehehehehe :rolling:
Also, on a more serious note :) i think that Voyager should end WITH a film. So, the end of the series has no final conclusion (or ends ends at a real bad cliff hanger, just to really p1ss ppl off), and then the movie would be realeased to finish it off.
Makes more money that way too!

we can only hope m8;) maybe a TNG/Voyager crossover movie? ie, the Enterprise gives Voyager a big assist in gettin back to safe territory? But i reckon they will resolve that 1 way or another in the tv series. That, of course, doesn't exclude the possibility of a movie follow-on featuring the same crew, you all know what Paramount are like;)

One more season and thats it :bigcry:
They shouldn't have stopped DS9 in the first place
i reckon the breen are a bunch of ferengi women who know they shouldn't be out of hubby's sight
Nah I do seriously think they're some race we already know about in disguise maybe the Tal Shiar or summat
