This is one of the best ones http://computingcentral.msn.com/topics/bandwidth/speedtest.asp

I personally think all these online speed testers are a bunch of crap as there just too unreliable and too many factors can affect the result, One I have found that seems to give a fairly consistent result from out 2mb permy connection at work is from DSL Reports (http://www.dslreports.com/stest/0)

Take the answers you get off these things with a pinch of salt guys.

going to, http://www.computingcentral.com/topics/bandwidth/speedtest50.asp
I get 3709.1 k/bits/p/sec and 454.5 k/bytes/p/sec
I have a saved screen of it and when going to the cnet speed test I get 1665.9k/bits/p/sec
so it seems they are all of a mudle. im suppose to get 512 and 128 respectivley, but since upgradeing the tv to their digital service it seems to have gone mad before I was getting 378 and 54, go figure!!! :smokin:

Win98 -> Win2000 Proxy -> Single Channel ISDN -> 0808 ISP

65.2Kbps Speed test.

41 ping 1 PL on WP Quakeworld servers.

I may not have cable or ADSL in my area yet, but I push my ISDN to its limits :D

----

Erm I just run it again and got 65.8. Then it goes on to say that no connection is 100% perfect. Yeah well mine is above 100% heh.

128K ISDN >>> 0808 >>> Ezesurf >>> (which doesn't support 128k lol)

Your line speed:

110.9 Kbps
13.6 K bytes/sec

hmmm..... not to great!
but then for a 64K ISP I can't expect much better. Don't ask me how I managed to get 128K on Ezesurf, it would simply take to long to explain...

Erm I hope you have read your terms for Ezesurf because I am sure it said that if u connected to them dual channel bonded or otherwise then can get charged up to 5p a min. Not sure how they would collect and its long time since I read the terms but I would be careful :)

The DSL one seemed to report the most likely figure - I got 503 down and 117 up, which is near as dammit perfect on cable NTL I think. The other site had me pulling over a gig a second down, I think not..

Hey X cell,
looks like you could be right, apparently the 2nd line is charged at 2.5p/min!

But like you said - How do they charge to it? I knew someone who went on Ezesurf 0845 with 128k when he was supposed to get charged for the 2nd line yet he didn't, but he never tried it with the 0808 number, and I have lost contact with him since.
If they charge to the phone bill, then that means losing the ISDN line. It's owned by an insurance company trialling this alarm thingy, and i'm only allowed to use free number on it! Oh wtf, i've used it for about 20 hours already, so it won't make any difference if I continue using it....

Oh ****o****o****
