Anyone got the BT ADSL installation phone number

A few months ago I registered my interest in ADSL on the BT web****e (no typo), which meant they sent you details of what ADSL had to offer. Fine.

The fools have emailed me yesterday to tell me that they will shortly be installing my ADSL line. I emailed back stating that I had NEVER requested installation and don't want it (for 'don't want it' read 'want it but can't afford it').

I have heard nothing since. I want to phone the :monkee:s to find out what's going on.

Anyone got the number?

what area you in tonster, and is it the multi user or single user connection. If you dont want it, tell em to give it to me:D

They didn't say whether it was multi user or single user (it would be for home use as opposed to business use, if that's the difference). They just said they were installing it. I haven't given them any bank details or anything. Maybe they've messed up and think I've paid!

I've just found the email they sent and copied it here for you. My apologies for using the word 'shortly', they don't actually specify a date. I've tried phoning the number they give but it's constantly engaged, hence I posted here.

What got my goat was the opening sentence. "Thank you for pre-ordering BTopenworld". I haven't!

FYI I found this on the site

As a guide, if you pre-ordered the multi-computer (Ethernet) service before 30th June and live or work within an ADSL exchange-enabled area, you should be up and running by September or October**. In fact, the first multi-computer customers will be online this week! If you pre-ordered the single computer (USB) service before 30th June, you should be online by October or November**.

ie. could be another 3 months until you're enabled.
