What's going on?

Can someone please tell me whats going on with the servers?

It appears they have been changed to 2 clan servers and an open server. Which leads to the folowing questions...

1. What has happened to the DM server?

2. Why haven't the map rotations been done? Surely it would have been the best time to update them?

3. When are we (the Captains/Admins) gonna get the new rcon passwords?

It's just very annoying to go on a server when you have a friendly arranged (as DC and RvsF had tonight) only to find that not only are they slower and laggier than ever but you are playing the same maps and can't even change them to the ones you want.

1. dm server is open port now change the port number from 2**** to 3****. So: 212.140.216.8:37906

2. Maps havent been done for a lack of trying m8, looks like another cd will have to be sent off to Amok before its sorted? I'm sure Vampy will expand on that tomorrow.

3. Yes the rcons have been changed. I have pionted out a small problem with both Amok and Vampy. But if anyone needs the rcon please icq Vampy at his work icq: 73035608 or leave a message on the comix messageboard in the aq2 clan leaders forum.

The aq2 servers have been bad all week, but I know bwadmin has been put back on the aq2 servers now as well as having the anti-m4 alias mod ML put on both clan servers. So both of those shouldnt have made anything worse? But the netfeed is supposed to been sorted out soon withing the next 2 weeks infact.

And the reason I'm saying contact Vampy at work is cos his line has been given him problems this week [ compounded by the bad connections for all this week ] and now decides to cut off after a few secs online tonite so couldnt explain this all himself. :(

Rcon has been changed again; Amok just had 1 passie. Now 4 have been made. I'm waiting for confirmation (tommorow morning, hopefully) then i'll be sending an email to everybody who needs rcon.

This is a case of the left hand not knowing what the right is doing.... Its time we had a proper CC that is here playing the game and been involved and orginising all this. It seems peeps are been used to sort all the hard work out for them and no credit is been given where credit is due.

Well Waz as you been more of a CC then a LM and with your "contact" either you become fulltime CC or someone like Vampy who plays the game and has a little more dedication to the game than alot of others.

amok mailed me yesterday with the new rcon @ 11:47 unfortunatly it's the only day i've been so busy i did'nt check me mail while @ work :(
as you might have noticed some things have changed
the names and rcon for now and dm has gone open port
all clan leaders knew this was happening anyway
its just a pain in the arse that it happend on the day my home line go's down i connected for 30 seconds or so enough time to get my mail down i saw the mail and phoned foxy stright away to ask him to make sure you lot knew what was happening.
amok sent the new rcon and server ip's to me cos he was asked to by cov
and i mailed amok tuesday asking him what was happening...
and yesterday it all changd (aghhhhhhhhhh)
a few things have changed and if you want a full rundown i'm happy to give it you just icq me @ work or home if i cvan get on :(
as for server lag i think that foxy is right the internet switching is ****ed all over at the mo :(
janet has been down twice this week
f9 has had a catastrofic failer on two servers
and BT's switching keeps poping :(

appart from that there's not a lot i can do
ill change the ini again and send it to amok with C/WAR removed and riot in its place ?

Waz I stand by what I said above. The small issues like this would be alot easier to sort out as they would be squashed as they became apparent, if we had a fulltime reliable peep in place as CC and not the one that has turned into another token one.

Peeps may have done a good job in the past, but if they can no longer do it or dont want to do it, they should stop mucking peeps around and a dediacated replacement should be found. Or is it going to be dragged out as long as the Q2 one was and Q3 seems to be heading in a similiar direction now as well? Q2/Aq2 are in their twilight and cant afford the dragging of feet....

It shouldn't have been an issue in the 1st place. It should have been handled by the CC and sorted out properly first off, and save not only GP staff repeating unneccessary tasks but peeps would have been informed so they wouldnt have moaned? Prevention is better than cure?

Amok told me that they would be fixed within 3 weeks. I had already mentioned to him that I wanted a rcon passy for each server. He most prolly forgot. Now especially as I didn't get the mail that the changes had occured, then it would'nt have happened. Coupled with the fact that vampies net conn. was buggered, that is why it took 2 days to "cure".
