Showcase DVD's

What DVD's do you think really shows off the superior sound and picture quality of DVD?

My selection is;

Godzilla, fantastically perfect picture plus the DD5.1 soundtrack shakes the room:)

Matrix, those slow-mo action scenes are perfect for DVD.

Super Speedway, If you have a DD5.1 setup then the sound is truly superb. It actually sounds like theres an indy car in your living room:)

Deep Impact(R1), The meteor hitting and subsequent distruction looks and sounds amazing on DVD.

Starship troopers Region 1 disc it still looks fantastic to this day!!!

My personal favourite for really getting ppl into DD5.1 is the opening scene on Blade (R1 or 2)....When they open the door to the club and you can hear the bass slowly thumping to walking into the middle of the dancefloor :)

Kicks ass - and we still arn't even up to the fight scene and the gunfire (make sure the sub is up and loud though)

The beginning of Blade is just so impressive, most of the people I know who bought it got it for that intro only. I also like the intro to Bad Boys SE, nice anamorphic full screen picture and good sound too, worth checking out on DVD.

Gotta go with Blade myself and try Die Hard through some nice surround sound...

Although thinking on this sibject, I did sit and watch Sleepy Hollow which has some supurb digital sound effects.

For picture quality and DVD transition from source, it has to me either The Mummy (amazing opening sequence) or A Bugs Life (full digital reproduction looks flawless :) )

Sorry Guys but you are all wrong Fight Club R1 is the daddy of all shocase dvd's. Its got an entire extra dvd disc full of extra features ffs and of on top of that its a fantastic movie!
