CD Rom gone skewiff!

Help!
Right its like this, when i try to use any of my PC cds, my PC registers them as Music CD's and when i try to run them it opens up CD player, sometimes they do work afetr persistent trying but they run extremly slowly and sometimes just stop working. How can i stop them being music ones, i dont think its a problem woth the CD drive itself, but hey i could be wrong! any help greatly appreciated.

Definately the CD Rom I'm afraid. Try cleaning it but it sounds like the motor is running slow and it can't read the TOC properly on your PC CD's.
