Why do UK distrubuters still release some classic horror films as 'uncut' versions when clearly they are not?

3 that spring to mind are

Zombie Flesh Eaters, the UK version is a waste of time compared to the proper uncut US DVD.

Dawn of the Dead Directors Cut, its still missing loads of scenes again compared to the 2 available US DVD versions.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre, it states 'full uncut' on the case but is infact 4 minutes shorter than the US DVD.

Moral of the story is if you want full versions get the American DVD's.

It doesn't stop at horror, both Bladerunner and The Wild Bunch still have important scenes missing from their "Director's Cuts".

Although the Yanks don't get them either :).

i dont really wanna get into the whole censorship argument again cos it'll take forever but surely people have 'duels'in america because of ther laws on guns and not because of censorship

i have always said that censorship is wrong and it should be our job to choose what we watch but unfortunately for me not everybody shares this view

Obviously it's the censored gore from Dawn of the Dead which is the REAL danger to society.

Just think, if we got to see that there'd be violence and anarchy on the streets!!!!
