After installing Windows 2000 Service pack 1, I could no longer get any internet connection at all via my cable modem.:(
I checked all the settings and they were fine.
I uninstalled the service pack and everything started working again.:)

Does anyone else here run Win2000 with NTL cable modem??
Is this a known problem or just me?? Can anyone advise on this problem and help me out???

Thanks

Thanks for that. I'll get on to Microsoft and let you know if they have a solution.

Mate here's the solution:

I have Win2K, SP1 installed and a CM.

What you need to do is set Zonealarms security level to medium, and that will let you back on again.

Aye, it's a known issue with ZoneAlarm. They will be providing a update, meanwhile use medium settings to allow Internet access (although I find that if I use IP addresses it works, but any other protocols like FTP or HTTP, it don't (I can use the game servers on UT with ZoneAlarm on maximum, but that's about it)
