ICQ me and help me please re Asus card :(

right i think ive found the prob - the card and my SB live is on the same irq
i know its early but can someone plz tell me how i change one or the other cos I have never had to do it before,....

Not sure that's the problem m8.

I've just checked mine, and it's sharing with a USB device and a system one.

My Soundblaster and Geforce2 are also sharing quite happily.

Make sure u got ur card set up right.

I had anIRQ sharing problem after I upgraded my PC. My ISDN adapter and graphics card were using the same IRQ and I couldn't get my ISDN card to work,every time I tried to install the drivers it would just restart itself. I don't know what problems you're having but to stop the two cards sharing the same IRQ you should uninstall the drivers for your ISDN card,shut down your machine,put the card in a different PCI slot then start it up again and install the drivers.

find out off from ur mother board book and put isdn card in pci slot 1, then arange others accordingly. isdn cards generally like only thier pre-determined irq's sound cards and the like will use others.

but anything from windows 98 up does whats call resourse sharing. i.e. ur isdn card uses say irq 10 and a dodgy cheep sound card will only work wif irq 10. windows will figure out which needs to do what.

or right click my computer
properties
device manager
find soundcard
double click
uncheck use auto settings
find irq line and select
pick an unused irq
