What are your pings like on Kingpin?
Or any other fps for that matter?
I get pings of around 50 on my ADSL Ethernet service.
It'd be nice to know!!:)

I think you'll find that no one has the USB service yet, its looks like being delayed until Christmas :E
Wow thats not bad since my m8 using his ADSL Ethernet service has only sometimes had a sub 100 ping and thats even with the 2mbit trial he had :E

I thought there were some people on a trial with USB ADSL, but they just don't lurk around here, so we can't get feedback.
I may be wrong about that though :emb:
And the problems on the original 2Mb trial were down to 2 different types of equipment used. Some people had Fujitsu kit which rocked, and they got silly low pings, and others were on Alcatel kit, which sucked. Maybe your m8 was on Alcatel kit? I might have those the wrong way round, but you get the idea?

Yeah my m8 had the **** Acatel crap which BT wanted people to use, it was 90+ ping but he said it was faster dling. Where as the Fijitsu gave 30-50 pings but didn't dl as fast as the Acatel equipment, strange :E

I tell you what....I'm beginning to wonder if that's what NTL have done to their service.
They have racked up the download rate, no question, but at the same time pings seem to have gone up too.
When gamers have been pestering them on the phone or newgroups etc...they're starting to say now "Well, we design the network for optimum browsing, it's never been designed as a gaming network"
Maybe the routing issues will restore the pings, but I'm wondering if this won't happen to all these new services. They'll be fine for surfing, but the latency will suffer as a result.

Well your right in many areas, its like BTi and many other ISPs. If you ask for help to with pings in gaming then most are unable to help but its different when browsing, after all browsing is the only time you actually use most if not all of the bandwidth on any thing.
Games are more to do with latency and most comapnies don't care about gaming, nor do most people who use the internet.
I guess if you increase the bandwidth then while dls are faster because its able to fit more in the pipe then its harder for gaming since its smaller data and hits a lot of the bigger stuff, only a guess :E
