The Game is beginning a transition, we are aiming to become a gaming web site primarily for reviews of new games and hardware... (many before they are launched)
Please take a look at the fresh design of the new Gamer and post your comments/suggestions on this message board or email us at contact@thegamer.co.uk
The BETA Gamer can be found at http://www.thegamer.co.uk/TheGamer.co.uk
Tell us what you would like to see at The Gamer and we may just implement your ideas!
Thanks :)
Very, erm, white. Too many banner ads etc. Text is very small. Not a lot else to comment on really...

T'is a wee bit bare. Reminds me of the QXL website - probably just that orange. Maybe some boxes, or 'raised' areas of a different colour to differentiate the different news/review categories?
Also, try to fit the whole lot into one page (I'm looking at 1024*768 and have to scroll down to see more of the page.
Hi, its a very good website and very proffesional looking.
Just on question, Are those banners your sponsor and if they are, r u getting payed for it.

... yes those are paying adverts. We also consider Banner exchanges if anyone is interested...?
Let me know - Alastair@thegamer.co.uk
Cheers,
ok your main problem with the site at the moment is the bg
you've just used one main bg
this gives you problems as diferent broswer give slightly different value for line breaks and that..
and so, your copyright thing at the bottom for me, actually is on the white, rather than the orange as it supposed to be
try putting the site into a table and cutting up the bg and giving cells differents bg..
so you always get the copyright bit on the orange bg
or somthing like that
It has potential, needs to be more resolution friendly as it looks **** in my 1600x1200 :/ You should let me design your site :)

Ok folks, BETA v2 is now online at http://www.thegamer.co.uk/TheGamer.co.uk ... it's beginning to take shape.
Please bare in mind that this site is currently being designed with Internet Explorer 5 and above in 1024x768 resolution as a basis :)
Can any peeps suggest a good Message Board design software? cheers ;)
If you have cgi support get UBB @ http://www.infopop.com there is a free UBB but with less features, this is what i may use on my up & coming games site.... called Game-Cheatz, i'll be putting up a test for people to comment and suggest ideas....
