The title says it all really. The Belgium GP is next week, so start tuning ur Spa set-ups and get posting those hot laps :)

Here would be a good place.

Chas will probably add Spa pretty soon. So submit your laps to him, here: http://drive.to/gp3hl

Yep, I'll be working on it.

It's tricky to get right that is sometimes. I like the Bus Stop best, and also Eau Rouge, but not really the fiddly twisty section.

I can manage 1.52:082 now....but unfortunately for some reason I can't load any saved hot-laps or anything :( - any ideas??? - I'm running windows 2000

I have a problem as well :)

I have been messing around with my setup for Spa, but it has had one big downside, if i come close to the corner at the end of the pit straight (bend) the car does a nice 360 cos it gets horribly unblanced. help meeeee :E

I think the problem will be with the springs and/or the dampers. Try softening your rear springs, or stiffening the front. See how that goes, and also see about how it handles arong the rest of the circuit.

Then try dampers. You'll probably want to do generally the same thing as with the springs. It's probably to do with the fast dampers as they are acting when the car goes over bumps. THe slow ones are entry and exit so I doubt that'd have much effect.

Actually, do the fast dampers first, then do the springs :)

Let us know how it goes.

Managing a 1.51:632 now - fiddled with me car setup. At the moment I have front and rear wings lower than the default (10 or 11 I think) and brake bias towards the rear....I've altered some of the dampeners as well, but I'm not entirely happy with the steering at the moment so I'll have to play some more :)

Ok, just done a 1.50:496

with a bit of fiddling and taking a few different lines on the circuit :)

1:50:846 at the moment, the car is really nervous at the moment though, and eau rouge is a bit of a lottery. Should be able to improve if I sort that out :)

I love the dampers now. I got lucky with the setttings a bit at Australia and it really improved the handling, stopped the car skipping out off the kerbs on the chicanes.

What sort of rear downforce have you gone for?

Omar, you said you love the Bus Stop. I just can't get the second chicane of Bus Stop right (i.e. the last chicane before pit straight). I can do it under braking, but the computer cars seem to take it much quicker, i.e. still accelerating from the first chicane.

When I try that, sometimes it works, sometimes the kerb sends me off line and I crack my rear right into the barrier.

Are you guys taking it at full pelt each lap ?

That should have said "last chicane before Pit STRAIGHT", not Pit STOP - quite important as the pit lane entry is BEFORE the chicane I'm talking about !

U can take it a lot faster if your suspension is softer.

I've done a 1:49.885, so far. Hopefully more to come tho.

It's difficult to get a compromise between straight-line speed and cornering speed :(

I seem to lose an awful lot of time round the bus stop. I have a nsty habbit of going too fast and spiining at the exit, or going too slow and losing a second or so.

Really need to sort that out :(

I can only manage a 1:50.979, I have tried changing the setup but cant get a good balance.

I agree about the last chicane, part 2 of the Bus Stop, I cant seem to take it flat, have to lift off the accelerator.

That 1:49 something must have been a good lap. how about sharing your setup with the rest of us?

I can take the last bit full throttle, but I normally take it at just less than that because it's a bit random as to wether I get through or not. I just try to line it up before the kerbs then go straight on through, let it settle then yank it away from the kerbs, and hope for the best.
I often spin on the way into the Bus Stop and into the left hand wall, but it's ok as long as I brake early.

I've managed a 47.469 this morning. Got a massive improvement in handling just by changing the dampers a little.

Great! Ive just managed a 1:49.142, my best lap by far. I did this all by putting the dampers down to 1 for front and rear. Front and rear downforce are at 8, and the spring settings were about one band up from their minimum. 6th gear was at about 59, and the ride heights were slightly above the middle settings.

I've posted it here. (http://www.btinternet.com/~bathurstenduro/maps/DryQual.csm) I think that's the right one, it should be 12 rear downforce, 14 front.

Probably needs tweaking and stuff. :)
